News from University Architect
Duncan Hall Opens

Construction is now complete on Duncan Hall, a new men’s three-story, 68,489 square foot undergraduate residence hall which will house 234 students, located on the southwest corner of campus, west of McGlinn Hall and east of Holy Cross Drive. This is the University's first new dorm constructed in over a decade.  The building features a variety of spacious room accommodations consisting of singles, doubles, triples, and quads.  Super doubles and super quads are also available which add additional space at the building's bay window conditions, while the super quads have private restroom amenities.  The building is comprised of two wings per floor; each wing is equipped with a study lounge and social lounge.  Other building features include a main student lounge with technology for teaching space, full kitchen, food sales, laundry, weight room, and a second floor chapel.  This new facility represents an excellent example of our mission statement to service the University by planning, designing, and constructing excellent environments for teaching, learning, living, and spiritual growth consistent with Notre Dame’s heritage and responsibilities as the world’s preeminent Catholic university.
