News from University Architect
Geddes Hall and Ryan Hall Open

The recent opening of Geddes Hall containing approx. 65,000 square feet houses both the Institute for Church Life and the Center for Social Concerns.  The building is designed to reflect an “arts and crafts” style architecture which is reflected throughout several areas of the building.  The new facility includes common shared spaces for both staff and students within the Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, coffee house, and the Fr. Don McNeill Library.  Other areas of Geddes include office space for staff and faculty, conference and meeting rooms, a large classroom/auditorium, several support spaces, and shelled space for future growth.  The project is in the process of seeking LEED certification.

Ryan Hall was successfully completed on time for fall semester occupancy with a total construction delivery of 16 months.  The spacious student rooms, social & study space, entrance vestibule, 24- hour lounge, and magnificent chapel were well received by students and parents as the first generation of students filled this new Women’s Residence Hall.  The building amenities consist of floor kitchens, an exercise room, laundry and vending.   The building has received positive feedback on the design, and traditional finishes used on the structure.  The University welcomes our newest residence hall opening.
